If you can't reason beyond empty numbers, it's pointless. Football is a complex mechanism. It can't be explained by numbers on paper next to each other. Southern Miss went directly from 12-2 to 0-12. Fresno went from 1-11 to 10-4. There's a whole lot that goes into it. And those are records. Stats on paper are influenced by a ton of things, things that go way beyond being able to blame it on not even a new head coach, but a new coordinator in one season. That's lazy. If you can't dig deeper to find a real source of criticism, don't bother.
