Personal Experiences:
In summary: it sucks, but, sometimes it's just meant to be
My Daughter:
- Similar resume (lower ACT)
- Did not get in
- Came in my room and cried on my shoulder (first time ever)
- Decided to go to USU on scholarship
- Had an awesome YSA Bishop
- Had a roommate who was baptized
- After 1 year at USU, applied for transfer to BYU and was accepted
- After 1 year at BYU, decided to go on a mission (she was anti-mission all through high school)
- I think she would not change how it all went down
Good friends son:
- Not as impressive a resume
- Relentlessy hounded the admissions office (was able to visit personally)
- Went to summer term
- Was accepted for fall
- Left BYU after two years to transfer to another school
- Now in law school at the U
- Great kid
- I think if he had to do it over again, he would have not gone to BYU first
