Not that it matters, but if you think that's the only explanation then you're unlikely to graduate out of senior
associateship.

If someone fits into certain statistical parameters and still doesn't get in, the LIKELY explanation is that those criteria are not weighted exactly how it was supposed. My argument, therefore, is that rather than assuming the admissions office is simply wrong, or capricious--which assumption will likely lead to the same outcome upon subsequent re-admission efforts--it would be more healthy to understand the actual weighting of criteria with this admissions staff. That way, if the applicant is dead-set on BYU, renewed admission application efforts are more likely to succeed.

I have nothing personal against Hoss or Hoss Jr. I wish both of them the best. But I also wish them mental efficiency.


Senior associates, though, are the dupes of successful law firms. Up or out, fast, my friend.
