Absolutely. I was referring to PWO, but used the term *walk-on*
BYU has a long history and strong record of PWOs who stick with the program even though they have other SCHOLARSHIP opportunities elsewhere. We see it every year - BYU "recruits" who turn down scholarship opportunities at other schools to accept the PWO route. The PWO players and their families *PREFER* the BYU PWO option over other FBS scholarship options. Ie, they *choose* to be a PWO at BYU over being a scholarship athlete at another FBS. In fact, the number of BYU athletes that have lived this scenario is pretty overwhelming.

I don't have experience or insight to other FBS programs, by my understanding is that BYU has a much stronger PWO program than most other schools...specifically because there are so many players that want to be part of the BYU football program and the BYU experience.

I have absolutely no issues with this, UNLESS BYU coaches are promising or *guaranteeing* a scholarship to the PWO players to induce them to accept the PWO option at BYU instead of a scholarship elsewhere. I do not believe this is happening, but welcome any anecdotes that refute my perspective.
