Industries have on the BYU education. Forget the members. I have been a part of the manufacturing engineering industrial advisory board for around 15 years. I’ve been in industry and I’ve recruited BYU students. The perception of the skills in the department are great and we keep trying to build bigger relationships with industry and keeping the curriculum relevant for the industry.
Great things are said.
But BYU alumni have their challenges as well. Many male alumni have a tough time with female bosses or coworkers. This is probably more of a cultural problem than a school problem but that’s the perception.
Many BYU alumni leave great companies because of a spouse not wanting to live in a certain area. Saw that when I worked in the Midwest.
So not really an issue with education than more an issue with culture of the predominant group at the university.
