Sure. If a student comes in and says, I believe in god, and here’s why, a prof

could challenge the reasoning - argue with them about their assumptions. Have them respond to counter arguments. Get the class involved.

That’s an example of something that doesn’t happen at BYU. It could in some sort of lame abbreviated form, but only if it ends with the prof bearing testimony that the church is true.
