early 90s. I even violated it myself once. Somebody was going on a rant about a piece of art that was clearly sacrilegious by LDS standards. I piped up and commented that the artist likely had very different life experiences than most of us in the class and the sacred Christian symbol that was shown in an offensive way probably represented something very different to the artist than it did to us. I said it was possible the artist had only seen the symbol used for oppression. And then the class had an interesting and wide ranging discussion.

And judging from my recent graduate son and a son is still attending, much of the discussion going on at BYU's campus today is probably to the left of the average CB discussion.
