I think you have the right to call your attorney anytime you want to.
I mean - I've never been arrested, but I've called an attorney before about stuff.
I get what you're saying as far as miranda rights. And I have no idea when that happens. Just seems odd that every time he says "I'm going to call my attorney" the cop says no - we're just talking. When CLEARLY he is being questioned as a suspect of a crime even though he hasn't been arrested yet.
