Internet anonymity amplifies exponentially the tendency to cast stones.
He screwed up, he owns that, he has promised to do better, he had to sit out 3 games, he pled guilty to a misdemeanor, he is subject to the consequences of that crime, including a $1000 fine, community service, probation, license suspension, interlock device requirement, and his mistake is totally public. If you feel entitled to judge him further, maybe you should focus on your own shortcomings instead of others'. If you think his punishment was too light, maybe you should move to Idaho, get elected to the legislature, convince everyone else in the legislature that a first DUI should be treated like attempted murder, and run a bill making a first DUI a felony with a 20 year sentence.

How many of you casted internet stones at the BYU players with DUIs, drug convictions, etc? I hope none of you. You can be annoyed and angry with the decision, but you shouldn't allow malice to control your life, hoping for someone to suffer rather than hoping that they are able to make better decisions in the future and improve, as you would want people to feel about your own mistakes. Cancel culture is based on this same malice and fueled by internet anonymous mob rage. Let's be better than that.
