Eddie Intervention Needed
I have no idea. That's why I asked the question, to be honest.
All I know is that people have the right to an attorney when dealing with legal issues. Not sure when that right kicks in.

Look - I'm not anti police. I'm not against people committing crimes from receiving consequences. None of that is what I'm arguing.

It's just curious to me that for years we've been taught that people have the right to an attorney, if you're being questioned by cops you can ask for an attorney, etc. Every police show you ever watch will have good police stop asking questions when the person they're questioning asks for an attorney. Sometimes they'll even portray some negotiation - ie: "we just want to understand what happened and work out a deal to help you, but if you ask for an attorney we can't help you".

The whole concept of someone saying "I'm going to call my attorney" and the police telling them not to is new to me. That is all - like I've said a couple of times - I'm not a cop or an attorney. I don't know anything about when those protections or rights kick in - but it seems strange to me for a cop to tell someone not to call their attorney.
