I’m on the same page. DUI should be license suspension and jail time for a
First offense. Everyone knows of someone who died because of a drunk driver. Between that, the existence of ride sharing and stuff like Uber, and all the PSAs, literally everyone knows better.
I don’t care if you’ve been going through a hard time. I don’t care if your mom died, or you lost your job, or you’re in the middle of a divorce, or even all those plus some simultaneously. There is ZERO EXCUSE. Because besides the immorality of doing something that is so irresponsible that it threatens others’ lives, the last thing you need if you’re going through a hard time is the financial and legal ramifications that come because of drunk driving.
