I'm not a criminal lawyer, but
my understanding was if that you aren't free to leave you're under arrest. Maybe traffic stops are different. But Few was told he didn't have a choice to get out of the car. At that point sounds like he's not free to leave. Thoughts?

Interesting that I've always thought to play nice with the police, but I also don't expect to ever be in Few's situation. I suppose most people don't, including him. But the thought from most criminal attorneys seems to be what you said-- politely decline to say anything.
