I have seen this opinion posted and discussed a lot about having a lawyer..
but for an active DUI investigation, they will just arrest you and take you down to the station if you refuse to answer questions and participate in a field sobriety test. If you are not drunk, its best to cooperate with the police, if you are drunk, you really only have 2 options.
1. Don't talk or participate and be placed under arrest.
2. Talk and participate and be placed under arrest.
Moral of the story: don't drive drunk. There's nothing your attorney can do for you under any scenario when you operate a motor vehicle impaired and a police office pulls you over.
