It also depends on the player, where they go, if they have access to basketball,
I served in the states where I was able to play almost every P-day, some type of ball. I was able to play at some city parks in the Bay Area, and got to play against some really good competition. It was a lot of fun, I am one of those rare cases, where you come back better than before. I was on a bike for the first seven months which actually strengthened my legs and helped make me a lot more flexible. -

- But I also had teammates who served in areas of the world where they weren’t able to do that at all, and it took a long time for them to get into shape.

I think it’s different for everybody.
