yeah, happened to me
still ticks me off to think about.

first off, i broke the rules. my girlfriend and i would hang out in her bedroom. believe me or not, all we would ever do is hang out and do homework. no big deal but still against the honor code. somebody turned us in. we were called in to the honor code office separately, made to write a paper, and put on probation. same thing for my girlfriend.

all of this was fine and we deserved it.

the one thing that i was not okay with was that the probation would stay on my transcripts if ever i applied for a graduate school. no details about how it was a minor infraction or major, etc. but i would be made to "check the box" that said I had been put on probation during my undergraduate education.

fast-forward- I married the girl and now have an mba from byu and served as president of the class.

lessons learned- things that happen aren't as bad as they seem in the moment. the honor code serves a purpose. it isn't perfect but it's necessary.
