They perception among fans, recruits, and anyone unbiased that is really paying attention is that Utah is the big dog in this state. Spare me the stadium and fanbase comparisons. On the field is what really matters. Playing the game only allows BYU to change that perception. By walking away, Utah coaches can tell their recruits and fans that Utah is the premiere program, and they can back it up with hard evidence. Why jeopardize that by playing the rivalry game?
