RE: I'd be fine if Utah and BYU never played again.
Do Ute fans get together to organize their arguments or something? I've had three different coworkers use the exact same words many of the Ute fans in this thread have used to describe Cougar fans. "Hate," "Vitriol," "Not Self-Aware." It seems that the arguments are all the same regardless of who is saying them.

I understand that the college football landscape is changing and that it will continue to change over the next 10-20 years. But to me, it is absolutely a shame that traditional rivalries are being lost because of changes in conference membership. Some teams won't allow that to happen and will continue to play every year (i.e. Miami/Florida/Florida State and Clemson/South Carolina). But for every rivalry that will continue, the fans have lost out on multiple, traditional games. (BYU/Utah, Texas/Texas A&M, Kansas/Missouri, Nebraska/Colorado, etc.)

College football was built on geographic conferences and rivalries during the 1960s to the early 2000s. I'm sure that my opinions on rivalry games will be in the minority, but I would rather have multiple rivalry games every year (for BYU: Utah, USU, Hawaii, maybe Air Force, Boise or CSU) instead of seeing the teams not play anymore because they moved to a better situation for themselves that provides them with more money that goes to coaches and the school, but not really to the actually athletes themselves and definitely not to the fans directly.

Just my two cents though...
