I also think there is too much hate in the rivalry. I suspect there is probably more so in Utah than outside Utah. I am hoping the two year break calms things down a bit. However, for the same reason you stated, I think there is too much hate in the rivalry and if they never played again I would be fine with that as well.
I have many U of U graduates I consider friends and I value their friendship far more than the outcome of a sporting event.
