Before I was big into BYU football, I attended and received a degree from the U. I've also spent considerable time on campus at BYU. The hate emanating from the hill during rivalry week was ten times more hostile than anything I ever experienced in Provo. In fact it seemed that most Cougar fans approached the game like any other and as fun competition.

Everything I saw spewed at the U was based on the supposed ignorance, religion and or nerdiness of BYU. In addition, I found the mock violence perpertrated against BYU icons in the name of 'good natured teasing' to be boorish.
