The old "we're above you and you are no longer a quality opponent" routine. Quite a few of your conference fellows disagree evidenced by the slew of PAC 12 teams BYU has on its future schedule. BYU is a quality team and is viewed so by any intelligent and honest person in college football. If you want the rivalry to die because it has become too heated for you then fine but Ute fans should stop with the "nothing to gain" argument because it doesn't hold water. It's certainly not why your administration backed out of the game. It's sad tradition in college football is dying because of petty things.
