By that logic, Navy should quit playing Army (most recent: 15-1), Ohio State should quit playing Michigan (most recent: 11-2), and USC should quit playing UCLA (12 of the last 15).
Also, Texas should have stopped playing Oklahoma after 1970, Notre Dame should have quit playing USC after 1995 (12 straight wins), USC should have stopped playing Notre Dame after 2011 (9 out of 10 straight wins), and Alabama should have stopped playing Auburn after 1981.
The strategy of champions: drop the mic while you're ahead (ignoring that that mic was part of over 90 years of tradition) so that you can safely tell a potential recruit not to go to BYU, since the "hard evidence" demonstrates a premiere program.
