once in a long while... That isn't the case with BM. He loses frequently within his first three games.. often twice more than not. Sometimes stuff happens..like Mercer Duke... Utep /BYU. Sometimes they are a pattern of inadequacy like BYU Virginia..that is the issue..Not an occasional once every ten years where did that come from loss. I wasn't taking offense or objecting to the idea that sometimes a crazy bad loss happpen... However, THAT is not what most on here are griping abot with BM so comparing a crazy bad opening loss from a lavell era team to BM's without context is not an accurate comparison.. both were bad losses, that is true. Both were opening day losses. How did lavells team respond the rest of teh year om 85? Does it make sense that a team coming off of a NC it's first and only ever might be a littel overconfident adn that a UTEP team at home facing teh defending NC might have put more work and effort into preparing for that game and were up for it much more emotionally thtn BYU was? Those are reasons, real ones and those were part of a learning curve that a team who wins a NC needs to learn from... Totally different circumstances than last years BYU team and totally different three game openers that BM routinely puts up.
