proves my point in just the second paragraph don't you? They even use the phrase "BELIEVED to have been forced out by Mendenhal." Both Bronco and Anae have publicly stated in the past year that Anae was not forced out and that Bronco asked him to stay.
In other words the Trib was wrong (big surprise) or Bronco and Anae are lying.
That is the total gist of what I was saying and you provided the link for me.
But lets look further since you want to lean on the Tribs article. "The Salt Lake Tribune has learned that Anae's future could involve Maryland. " Hmmm. Either their "source" was wrong or Anae is lying when he said he went to AZ
As for Reynolds the only meaningful quote from him in this article is - "Running backs coach Lance Reynolds, a 28-year veteran on the BYU staff, said the timing of Anae's announcement was a surprise to him, but the actual resignation was not. Reynolds declined further comment" In other words - he knew that Anae was leaving before Bronco said that everyone had to apply for their jobs.
As for re-applying for their jobs - Reynolds did not actually say anything about it (which is what you are hanging your hat on). A reporter asked "were you asked to re-apply for your job" and Reynolds said "yes". Did you know that BYU coaches all have one year contracts? Prior to Crowton even head coaches only had one year contracts. I think even Cleve was year to year. Thats why I did not put much stock in the reports and furor in 2010 and I dont now. Reynolds statement was akin to him answering yes to "is water wet". However, the press, and those that find fault with whatever Bronco does made a ton of hay with that single comment.
