aware where someone says there was a B12 football-only option 3 years ago. Why has this not come up before? I think it is more likely that bluebrotha or his source is conflating a couple of different negotiation time frames.
Second, some very vocal, persistent, and critical posters here have insisted for years that Sunday play was never an issue (under the full membership scenario, mind you), and now we so easily accept the fact that it WAS an issue, but moved off of the table to consider a football-only membership? But that is the key, isn't it? The B12 didn't have to settle for a football-only member when WVU and TCU could come in as full members without the Sunday scheduling headache. As with my own trusted friends with contacts inside the B12 inner circles, Sunday play was indeed the most difficult issue.
Third, this is another excuse for some on here to hurl insults toward Tom Holmoe and the others who have worked tirelessly to accommodate both the university's commitments as well as the athletics department's desire to compete at the highest levels. Whenever I see a new opening for someone to heap blame and insults upon our AD, I cringe. These critics are absolutely clueless as they latch on to the next speculative rumor.
But on the bright side for those who are bluebrotha believers, his source does guarantee we will have a seat at the P5 table:
