Actually, I don't think the examples you outlined in your post actually help
your argument. Look at Kyle Van Noy. Even though he had screwed up, he showed great humility in his desire to come to BYU despite his mistakes. He was even willing to take responsibility and accept the conditions that Bronco put on him. I imagine if Porter REALLY wanted to come to BYU as his dad likes to claim, Bronco would have been willing to work with the kid on a plan to get him here.
