I just want to understand where you are coming from...
So you are saying that loses to 6-6 Arizona and 10-3 Boston College, who ranked 20th in final AP poll, and playing in the Las Vegas Bowl against unranked Oregon... is somehow close to being equal to losing to 9-3 and ranked 16th Washington Huskies and winning the Conference Championship over 20th ranked Wyoming and beating 14th ranked Kansas in the Cotton Bowl?
BYU didn't crack the top 25 in 2006 until the first week of November, finished 16th. I guess in horse shoes... it's close.
Something though that is odd... Florida won the national championship both those seasons.... hmmmmmm.
