Of course luck is a factor. IMHO Utah's 2008 team did not have a better record and win the Sugar Bowl by luck and BYU's 2006 team have bad luck and that was the difference. Utah was a better team who had a good team that out them self in a position for good luck, BYU has struggled with this.
