Exactly. When replacing a winning coach in college it rarely gets more wins
Look at Michigan. The fan base was unsettled with Lloyd Carr. Sure, Carr won a national title a decade earlier and regularly won 10 plus games every year and he had the second highest winning percentage for any Michigan coach since WWII except Bo, but, he had gone 7-5, 11-2, 9-4 over his last 3 seasons and had lost 4 straight to Ohio St. Unforgiveable. Carr gets fired. Michigan hires highly successful Rich Rod. What a disaster. Rich Rod lost his first game at Michigan to the University of Utah and went 3-9, 5-7, 7-6 in three seasons. Michigan wanted to go from good to great. The Wolverines went from good to bad instead.
