Game Changer Walk-on
Very similar to my experience in med school at the University of Utah
Most of the social functions involved alcohol, and so the Mormon students never went, and there was this perception that they were being arrogant and "holier-than-thou", and so forth. I went to a few parties but got tired of it really quickly. (I will say it was interesting to see some absolutely brilliant people make complete fools of themselves in front of everyone.) But I think it goes beyond alcohol. The Mormon students tended to clump together at all times (in class, study groups, etc.), leaving the non-Mormon people to form their own various social groups. Can't blame that on alcohol. And it definitely makes Mormons look standoffish and not very welcoming or inclusive.
