My experience as a Mormon who grew up outside of Utah but lives in UT since BYU
I worked for a software company located in FL and I was the rep for the Utah and other states. I would go back to Ft. Lauderdale a couple of times a year for meetings, trainings, etc. In the evening, the guys would always want to go to dinner together, not a company thing just the sales guys and sales engineers. They always wanted and would go to the "Pink Pony" yes a topless bar. They understood bc another Mormon worked with us as well but they always wanted to go to there. They would joke, you're wife won't know. It was always good natured and I was OK with it.

Now my first software sales job, I was at a tradeshow in Dallas. A bunch of other sales people that I met there invited me to go to dinner with them, I thought that was really cool. They told me we were going to a Gentleman's Club. I had no idea till we pulled up and saw the "menus" I had to excuse myself.

I was at first a little scared and apprehensive to bars when I first started travelling but I have mellowed over the years. I still don't go to the Pink Ponys or Gentleman's clubs or even the straight up saloon/bars unless there is a company event there. But I don't mind going out and letting them drink. I learn alot about other people and I provide a valuable service of being the designated driver if needed.

My current company is 99.9% active LDS so its not often I run into these situations now. But all Mormons are different, maybe its where they grew up, maybe its how strict your upbringing was, so maybe its just the Mormons you've been around
