Reno Mahe, Joel Theler and Bryan Kehl
So I grew up in the Willow Creek Stake near Brighton and we used to play tackle football every week in a park in our neighborhood. In that day, Brighton had some amazing athletes and most of them would show up and play with us. Reno Mahe was a year older than us but is such a great guy. He would come and just mess with us. Nobody could catch him.

The best was Joel Theler. Very few of you probably know him. He was a stud, do-everything athlete at Brighton that had scholarship offers to a lot of schools. However, he ended up breaking a vertebrae in his back during a car accident after his senior season. He still went to BYU and played a year while redshirting before doctors made him give it up. But, he is a legit 6'3" and about 220 lbs in HS. His official forty time was 4.6 but he is the fastest guy I have ever played any sports with. He crushed one of our "friends" on a high pass over the middle one day and none of us thought the kid would ever get up. However, about 15 minutes later, he finally did manage to find his feet again.

Lastly, Bryan Kehl was 2 years younger but still always came out and played with the group. He could always hold his own but never truly matured until after I had moved away to college. He was also the last of the whole Kehl crew and always a little picked on. However, he is a great kid also and by the last few months of playing during my senior year in HS he was almost in Joel Theler's league of pure speed with tremendous size as well.

Those were good days. For what it is worth, I am more of the soccer player type of body and was probably 5'8" and 165 lbs in HS. To me, they were very fast giants.
