My BIL was a scholarship athlete at BYU who had HS grades/scores that were WELL below average. This is well documented to be the case for several FB recruits out of HS.

I will grant you, while BYU might have lower academic admissions standards for athletes, I believe they don't lower their standards to the degree of 99% of P5 schools - the P12 included.
