Yeah they had a few “special seasons” in football while in the MWC but come on, they have only been in the PAC-12 7 years compared to decades of MWC play. And those two major BCS bowls were a team coached by Urban, who we may hate but honestly is up there in the conversation of GOAT coaches, and then kne a few years later with players he had recruited. Do you really think if they were in the MWC the last 7 years they would have had a better bowl?

The biggest thing however is this: does a single Ute fan want to go back to the MWC, or any G5 for that matter? If it really has made them a middling program shouldn’t they see the writing on the wall and want to go back to being a bigger fish in a small pond? No, they haven’t won the PAC-12, or gone to an NY6 bowl. That just makes them like the majority of P5 programs.
