First off, good post, and good read, I appreciated the insight BallisLife (especially the growing little brother tone lately). I also agree with IceBlueCoug. Sure we are bummed when they go elsewhere, but I usually hear things like bummer, but “Stanford would be tough to refuse” or “USC/Wisconsin/Michigan is a good program”, with the occasional “good riddance” 😁. As a collective, we are bummed, but we usually get it, and shouldn’t shame a high school kid for their decision. But yes, as stated above, when an LDS kid, especially a legacy kid chooses Utah over BYU, we tend to let fandom rule and tend to be much more upset. I’d imagine other schools losing local kids to rival schools react the same, but never any need to try to shame a high school kid for making a decision for their life.
