needs to be much more support and positivity. Being negative literally doesn't improve anything. It just spreads pessimism and turns recruits off. Why would they want to play at a place where their own fans are critical of so much? Not saying we should be satisfied with mediocrity, but there's a correct way to respond to poor performance. That said, I also agree with other comments here explaining why it is a disappointment when active LDS players choose other schools since BYU's recruiting pool is simply not as vast. When a kid is a good fit on paper, it's a bummer to lose out on them. In some cases they have a chance to make a big impact on BYU and instead choose to go elsewhere and often just blend in.
