When did you attend? The Y's admission standards are very high. A 3.9 GPA is no
joke. Especially when you consider that BYU does not take into account weighted GPA's, which Harvard, Yale, etc... do and significantly inflates the GPA's of the incoming freshman to those schools. I know there are other things to account for like ACT/SAT etc... but the fact of the matter is most of the incoming freshman at BYU could get into an Ivy if they wanted to and choose to attend the Y instead. Many of them do attend an Ivy for their Masters after they graduate from the Y. I have plenty of friends that I graduated with that have done so.

BYU will always have undergrad smack because it is primarily an undergraduate institution. That's the mission.
