I obviously have no experience with BYU, there are a lot of med people I interact with that graduated there and they are great. Lots of bright U of U grads as well. My point has always been, clearly BYU has higher achievers based on standardized test scores - BYU isn’t the main reason why they are successful. They are successful because they are clearly intelligent and work hard. U of U is a STATE school and so their purpose is different. It is to provide a college education to as many willing students as possible. The higher achievers based on standardized testing at the U go on to have fine, great careers. In other words, unless you are a Stanford or Ivy grad BYU/Utah doesn’t really matter too much (I’ll give BYU business edge since I hear ad nauseam how great that program is).
