type 1 diabetes is a horrible example as it isn't caused by being overweight,
now type 2 diabetes is completely different because typically being overweight is a huge risk factor. In fact type 2 diabetics who lose drastic amounts of weight usually can get off their diabetes medication.

People say a lot of things like "I really don't eat that much" "I track my calories yet I don't lose".

My comeback is "how well did you track?" "Do you weigh your food?" "Did you include half the swig cookie your kid didn't finish?"

People say a lot of things about why it doesn't work, but basically they are looking for excuses not answers.

Saying that restricting calories won't lead to weight loss is like saying gravity doesn't work for me. "When I step off the roof of a building I just float. I just can't seem to get to the ground."
