First, I wasn't necessarily arguing that the Pac-12 was or wasn't a joke, or a weak conference, or whatever (although this is a pretty recent storyline - go back just a couple of years, maybe 2016 or so, and it was generally considered the second or third strongest conference - but fine, could be the case now, I'm not disagreeing). Just simply that, if it's a joke, and yet BYU can only win 25% of their games against that joke conference...what does that say about BYU? The narrative that BYU would be so strong in the Pac-12 or challenge for the conference championship regularly isn't really supported by recent history. Winning 25% of your games in the conference would put you in the basement of the conference most years.
Second, this whole "well, shucks, if we just take out the Utah losses from the record...we're an average P5 team!" is just so cute. Really, it is.
