Just wanted to see what the data looks like for a strong P5, but I wanted to stay away from the super-elites who beat everyone. In hindsight, I should've picked a team more in the average P5 category (like Ok State). In the past 5 yrs, Florida's record against strong P5s (over .500) is 44% (16-20).
If Florida is winning 44% against strong P5s, then average P5s are winning less. Which makes sense --by definition strong P5s don't have many losses. My expectation is that BYU in a P5 conference would have a losing record (20-30% win rate) against strong P5s, but would win a majority of games against weak P5s. Which is where most average P5 teams find themselves. That's why a lot of people see BYU as being a mid-tier P5 member, if admitted.
