No, but my wife found out she had a half brother that was murdered.
When my wife found out who her bio dad was, she did some family history research on his family. He had 3 sons. Somewhere in 1999 0r 2000 one of the sons (a half-brother) was murdered in Tacoma. He was walking home when a group of teenage kids decided to stomp him to death. No reason, just bored on a Sunday Afternoon. Pretty tragic. A number of kids were convicted for the murder, the last one was released from custody last year.

Yes, my grandpa was shot in middle of day outside a bank for a measly $400 he had just withdrawn by complete stranger.
