That one was on my mission. We were on our home from lunch and went past his store. The event had happened a short time before. The Spanish speaking missionaries had seen the killers running away and they ran inside and found him. When we arrived there were emergency vehicles and news crews everywhere. The news crews had the Spanish speaking elders in the rain with umbrellas hemmed in and they were shoving cameras and microphones in their faces. I push through, send told the reporters to back off and that there would be no comment from the missionaries, sent them home to call the mission president and we burned it back home.

In my home town in the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of high school, we would congregate in a parking lot on the main strip in town. Two members of the Latin Kings drove by and fired into into the crowd and supposedly as part of gang initiation killed one high school kid and sent another to hospital with a bullet to the chest. The shooter was previously in one of my grade school classes.
