This happened literally next door to my house when I was 8 years old...
I got off the school bus that day to find police everywhere and my mom sobbing in the kitchen. It was tough to comprehend that the nice lady next door who liked to give treats to me and my siblings had been murdered in cold blood, shot in the back of the head while she was stocking shelves in her little store.
