Childhood friend/next door neighbor was killed by rival gang member from our neighborhood…
It is a sad deal for many reasons but among them is this about the killer. I don’t excuse him for what he did but the kid didn’t stand much of a chance in life:
“Herrera's sister, Yolanda Herrera, later said her brother had a hard life, being raised by a grandmother because both parents were drug addicts. She also said Martinez had threatened and abused her brother since he was a child.“

Yes, my grandpa was shot in middle of day outside a bank for a measly $400 he had just withdrawn by complete stranger.
