No, Black's could not hold the Priesthood. It was either from God or you are in

the wrong church. In fact, the priesthood could be treated as favoring black people. They got the same reward with less responsibility. In all other aspects all people were to be treated the same. Some people didn't but that doesn't make it the institutions fault.
