Depreciation isn't normal on cars right now though. You could take possession of a new Tesla and turn around and sell
it for $5k-10k more than you paid right now. 2 year old models with 20k+ in miles are selling for just under the price of a new one.

8 years or 100k whatever comes first. And yes real life expectancy is looking closer to 300k or 400k.
