BYU fans make way too much of a few years of struggle for the P12. The P12 needs USC to resurge and all signs

point to that with the hiring of Riley and the stockpiling of portal talent.

But even without that, Utah was top 5 in 2019, a win away from the playoff. Oregon was #3 late in the season. And Utah is already looking at a top 8 preseason rank.

The P12 does need UCLA, Stanford, UW to get back to higher levels of competition. All of those programs have had slumps in the past and have resurged at some point. They just have too strong of an appeal to recruits to be down long term.
