Utah's struggles early on were the catalyst to make changes and put together a team that ended up on the same field as Ohio State.

Utah losing to BYU has no impact on Utah's destination and the Oregon win against tOSU had national implications.

BYU won the day they played. I don't really get caught up in hypotheticals.

Which team is better?

I think any objective person would take Utah's season. The rankings, the TV audiences, the NFL draft picks, the Rose Bowl exposure, next year's preseason hype — are all unique for a new money school like Utah.
