Yes. Winning 9 out of the last 10 with an impressive MOV is why Utah
was ranked well in both computers and qualitative polls. Few teams were playing better.

The later season success drowned out the two early losses that were close, on the road and while Utah was breaking in new personnel at the skill positions.

You can see why in the end, those created the rankings were less concerned.

In terms of quality wins, Utah can hang the hat on most of the Ws. Only AZ was the exception. A close win against a bad team.

Very few teams go through their conference at 9-1. Especially in division play where UCLA, ASU, WSU, OSU and USC were all fighting for a division title and needed to beat Utah to win. So Utah was a target all year.

These are schools with the same recruiting, same money, home and away...it's tough to run the gambit in any conference. I can see why Utah ended up in 12th.
