If "They earned their spot over competing Latter-day Saints" they also

made a commitment to the Honor code, which in their case requires that they remain faithful. Having a "crisis of faith" in which a person is going through a period of doubt is not at the same level of someone who has had their crisis and decided they no longer believe.

Why should they not be held to the commitment they made when they were accepted?
